Rumors Ends - today at Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi, Nokia unveiled the Lumia 1520, 1320 Phablets, Lumia 2520 tablet and three new models to its Asha range: The Asha 500, 502 and 503. Beyond the devices themselves, Nokia also made several app announcements for the Windows Phone platform, including the long-awaited photo-sharing app, Instagram. The official word from Nokia is that the photo-sharing app will arrive on Windows-powered mobile devices very soon.
Lumia 2520, the company’s first Windows 8.1 RT tablet comes with a 10.1-inch 1080p full HD display. The company claims that the tablet’s screen offers better outdoor readability than the iPad or Surface. It runs a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip and 8000mAh battery. According to Nokia, the tablet can offer up to 10 hours of battery life.
Lumia 2520 is equipped with a 6.7 Megapixel camera with Zeiss optics on back and a 2MP wide-angle camera on front for video calls. It comes with both Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity and available bright colors: red, white, cyan and black at the price of $499.
As other Windows RT devices, Nokia’s tablet gets the entire Microsoft Office RT suite with Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. The tablet comes with some Nokia exclusives, like Nokia Music and the Nokia HERE maps. The company is also offering its own Nokia Power Keyboard, a wraparound cover that functions as a keyboard and trackpad, and will give the tablet 5 extra hours of battery life.
Meanwhile, Nokia unveils a pair of new big screen smartphones, known as "phablets."The high-end quad-core Lumia 1520, as well as the more modestly-priced Lumia 1320 devices have a 6-inch high definition displays. The former can get up to full 1080p resolution, the latter 720p. Both phablets ship with the latest Windows Phone update, which adds support for large, high-resolution displays, quad core chips and adds another column of tiles, among other things.
Nokia 1520 comes with a 20-megapixel PureView camera. Some other features include wireless charging capabilities, 4G LTE support and 32 GB of internal storage with a microSD expansion slot. It comes with a 3400mAh battery and runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and available in yellow, white, black or glossy red. The 1320 has a 5-megapixel shooter and is also available in multiple colors.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 comes with a price tag of $749 while the pricing for the 1320 is $339.
